Every LOOMMOON scarf is a work of art. Carefully woven, each piece is created from start to finish. by a woman artisan in the traditional ways of her grandmothers. These artisans living and working in rural Thailand have joined together in women’s cooperatives because they wish to continue their lives and work in the traditional way, living in harmony with nature and each other.

Together they raise and harvest the silk, and care for the jungle habitat from which they gather not only the dyes for their art, but food for their families as well. Together they weave and work and support one another as they create the finished pieces that will last a lifetime, becoming only more beautiful and treasured with the passage of time.

These textiles come to you directly from women's cooperatives in rural Thailand. The women sell their work at a fair price, which allows them to stay in their communities, rather than migrate to Bangkok to find low-pay, high-risk jobs.

The process of raising, spinning, dying and weaving silk has been perfected over centuries. There is nothing toxic or harmful in this work.
